Society of Antiquaries of London, exhibition catalogues from the collection, 1896 to 1910
The Society of Antiquaries of London has appointed Nex to undertake a feasibility study for its apartments at Burlington House, Piccadilly. The study will set out how the building can open to a wider public, improve its environmental performance and better protect the Society's unique collection and library, while enhancing the Society’s long-term commercial resilience.
The appointment follows the recent settlement of the Society's tenure at Burlington House, where it has been based since 1874. The study will test what is possible within a listed building of this significance: step-free access, reorganising the collection, library and archive, and repair where fabric and services have reached the end of their life.
